The Micro Budget Film Fund
Introducing a New Era of Movie Investing
Investing in an independent film can be exciting and rewarding when approached in a business-like manner. At Highway 29, that means re-designing film investments to provide clear-cut features and benefits for our investors. Micro Budget Film Fund is one such investment currently being created by Highway 29.
Multiple Chances at a Hit Movie
The Micro Budget Film Fund combines funding multiple movies into one investment. With multiple opportunities for a hit film, investors have an 87.5% chance of enjoying a big return, compared to a single film investment. Highway 29 is currently looking for filmmakers within North Carolina who have projects we can review for the first fund.
We’re Leveraging the Power of Facebook
At the marketing level, MBFF is all about leveraging the power of social networks, including Facebook and Google+, as well as our own social network, MoviesAmongFriends.com.
100% Tax Deduction Under Section 181
A 100% deduction is available to every investor for every film for which principal photography begins in 2011. This deduction was implemented as a method of curbing “runaway production” by encouraging investment in movies made in the U.S. The Section 181 deduction provides a first year cash benefit to every investor. For example, for someone in a 35% tax bracket, a $100,000 investment would qualify for a tax deduction of $35,000. However, there is no guarantee that Section 181 will be extended past 2011.
Ultra-Low Breakeven
Cash flow back to investors is optimized by the fact that the film budgets are so low, therefore, breakeven is low, with tremendous head room for profitability.
Proven Production Team, Image Quality, and Production Process
The Highway 29 has the capability to complete its projects at a high level of quality. All films will be made in full HD and completed within a reasonable timeframe. Samples of our work are available.
